Maggie (Margaret) Gunter, Enfield, North Carolina, to Dr. James Fenton Bryant, Franklin, Virginia, 1888 May 20
Scope and Contents
Scope and Contents is sorry to hear that little Harrie is sick; is anxious to know what he and Mrs. B[ryant] said about her; is glad to know he thinks she [MG] has such a "noble character" and hopes he will never be disappointed in her and he will love her better every day not less; hopes he has kept his promise to read a chapter in the Bible every Sunday; thinks they should have regular days of writing each other so they will always know when to expect a letter and will never be disappointed. 5pp. ALS
