Scope and Contents

This series consists of 2 volumes of matriculation books from The College of William and Mary. Volume 1 dates from 1827-1881 and volume 2 dates from 1888-1920. The matriculation books contain signatures of students, names of parents or guardians, hometown, age, residence in Williamsburg, religion, and their course of study. Volume 1 also includes some rules of the Board of Visitors (1788-1830) and 2 loose papers listing student names. The matriculation books have been microfilmed and are on the same reel as the faculty reports. Researchers should use microfilm copies when available.
