John M. Galt, Augusta Arsenal, Georgia, to Mrs. Mary Alexander Galt, Norfolk, 1860 December 24
Scope and Contents
Could not get anything definite from the brother and executor of George T. Williamson regarding the Ohio land claim, so has engaged Mr. J. McCormick as a lawyer. Encloses power of attorney to be signed by all the heirs [see December 6, 1860 above]. The 730 acres still due is not valuable land. Discusses the Yankees and their quarrel with the South in vigorous language. [Note: The writer is Dr. John M. Galt (1808-1868), son of John Minson Galt and Nancy Herbert.
