Scope and Contents

The following description was provided by the seller: Mrs. Leidigh writes of the daily activities of herself, her mother, her children, and her husband "C.D.". She writes of events that they attend, doing lots of baking, Socials, many people who come to call, Alvin graduating from High School, weaving baskets & chairs, going to church to help make lots of wine, death of Grandpa Hayes, her husband playing in the Drum Corps, packing barrels for the Cleveland orphanage, Miss Moreland boarding at their home, going to the County Fair, Ethel Burns having her foot amputated, cyclone south of town, going to the dedication of the new court house, George Frey shot and killed by Sheriff, drunk men arrested at church, attending the Carpenter & Shriver Family reunions, many Suicides, Accidents, Deaths, Mother died & baby who lived, Alvin's auto being stolen, the Scarlet Fever scare, etc. Some of the names she mentions in the diary are: Donald Scotts ~ Zena Miller ~ Evelyn Baldwin ~ Edith Bentz ~ Bob & Ruth Williams ~ R.J.
