Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Scrapbook containing newspaper clippings, mostly in Spanish, from Panama highlighting the career of Marcos Justine Fernandez. The front of the scrapbook indicates that the book highlights his career for 1985- 1986 as he served as the G-4 Sub Chief of Staff Defense forces, a position he held under the dictatorship of Manuel Noriega until Noriega's ouster by invading U.S. Forces during Operation Just Cause in 1989. David Zimmerman, an Army soldier who participated in Operation Just Cause, and was responsible for clearing the command center, referred to as the comendancia, found this scrapbook in Justine's office.
