The following description was provided by the seller: "Mabel writes of her daily activities and local news, such as playing cards with her friends, going to school, her father going to Boston and to Portland, going to the toboggan chute, going to a dance, attending a Masquerade Ball, going to the Fair, her parents going to the Silver Grays Ball, a minstrel show, an excursion to Peaks Island, playing croquet, receiving an Indian Blanket as a gift, having ten "May Baskets", attending church, etc. Some of the names she mentions in the diary are: Lizzie Mason ~ Bertha Stahl ~ Jessie Pulsifer ~ Hattie Wilkins ~ Mary Wiley ~ Jennie Cole ~ Gene Bartlett ~ Fred Drake ~ Johnnie Hatches ~ Grace Never ~ Carrie Bennett ~ Kitty Caine ~ Harry Chase ~ Eddie Coles ~ Lizzie Whitmarsh ~ Nettie Fuller ~ Ella Cummings ~ Jennie Cole ~ Grace Huntington.
