Scope and Contents Acc. 2009.162 consists of the scrapbook of the Saxer's travel to Paris, France. The following description was provided by the seller" "The scrapbook includes: A roadmap of Europe, a 64-page travel guide, titled "On Foot in Paris" (1948), advertisement for Hotel California in Paris on the Champs Elysee, a print titled "Grand Panorama of Lucerne" about the French Army and General Bourbaki during the Franco-Prussian war, with a page of introduction to that panorama, a guide brochure titled "Paris by Night," a map of Paris, a menu for the Cafe de Paris, map of the Paris Metro. The 101 black-and-white photos include: World War I and World War II memorial, Reims, Chateau Thery, Paris cafe and restaurants, Notre Dame, Rive Seine / Seine River, Arc de Triomphe, Paris flea market, The Eiffel Tower / Tour Eiffel, Opera house: Palais Garnier, Versailles, Belleau Wood Cemetery / American Cemetery, etc. The 25 black-and-white photo postcards include: L'église de la Madeleine, Notre Dame, Reims cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, etc. The 34 color postcards include paintings from the Louvre and other sites in and around Paris.
