Scope and Contents The following description was provided by the seller: "Mr. and Mrs. Saxer assembled this scrapbook the same time as the first scrapbook, to record their work in Germany in 1949. Items include: Map and ship log abstract showing Mr and Mrs Saxer's transAtlantic route to Germany, folding English-language panorama guide of the Rhine River; English-language booklet: "The Dusseldorf Club Rules" for March 1949, rules and wine and bar menu for the Grand Hotel Officers' Club and for the Nurnbert - Furth officers' clubs and bars; large German-language folding color map "Das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen"; German-language letter to Harry Saxer from the Hüttenwerke Ruhrort-Meiderich at Duisburg; English-language menu for the American headquarters at Garmish, English language newletter for June 1949: "The Sign Post" for the Americans and British in Germany which includes an image of Mr. Saxer, newspaper article about John J. McCloy, Germany's U. S. military governor; Itinerary for the visit of the John J. McCloy U. S. High Commissioner in Dusseldorf including information about: Ambassador Robert D.
