Private journal of Charles H. Bell, Captain of the U.S.S. Constellation, describing navigation conditions, sightseeing, and conditions ashore as the vessel sailed around the Mediterranean Sea. Included on the itinerary were Alexandria, Messina, [La] Spezia, Carthage, Tunis, Mahon, Algiers, Lisbon, Cadiz, Tangier, Malaga, Cartagena, Barcelona, Marseilles, Toulon, Genoa, Naples, Caserta, Palermo, Elba, Pianosa, [unintelligible], Corsica, Gorgona, and Genoa. 143pp. MsV.
