Contains one original letter from Charles Armand, Marquis de la Rouërie, at Staunton, Virginia to Colonel Rivard, Winchester, Virginia. Autographed letter signed, 1 page. Received his letter relative to the want of forage; the 2000 bushels of corn will do until he is better acquainted with circumstances; plans to be at Winchester on the 28th; asks him to secure fodder, hay, and straw; Sergeant Martin will provide assistance. Purchased. Acc. 1994.28.
