Paul Hayden Duensing: The Birthday. Two-color title. Invitation to Aug. 13 birthday open house. Jan. 13, 1989 2-sided letterpress summary of 1989 printed by Paul. Mentions Pamela Rups and typeface Zapf Civilite, a typeface designed by Herman Zapf, matrices cut and type cast by Paul Duensing. According to Paul, I was the first person to print with this type. Aug. 1989 Deutsche Druckschriften. Thirty-six page booklet, 3-color title page, several other colors on other pages. End 1989 Invitation, (letterpress, hand-colored illustration on front) for dinner on Friday, Nov. 2, 1990. Spring 1990 Fourth Decade: 40 years of a Private Press. This is the last piece printed in Vicksburg, Michigan before they move to Georgia. One of 50 copies in wrappers. Handwritten message on colophon page: for Pam, with gratitude and affection. Paul 8.10.91 (probably Oct. 8, 1991, since Paul had the habit of using European dating). On envelope: “A Souvenir Casting of the Lord’s Prayer on an 18 pt. Quad. The Private Press and Typefoundry of Paul Hayden Duensing.” In the envelope: 18 pt. quad with the Lord’s Prayer on it. unknown Valentine’s day card to Pam, signed PhD. undated “Everyone must believe something.” 2-color, letterpress, on bright orange card stock. undated For the Good of Our Country, Decriminalize Hanky-Panky!! Two-color. undated Two-color change of address card printed by Pamela Rups at Paul’s shop in Vicksburg, Michigan. Paul cast some center spots for this and left this note. Signed “Milo Snart,” undated 1987.
