Visit of Dr. and Sally Davis en route to Alabama, family news, erection of George Washington equestrian statue and other statues by Crawford in Richmond, Va. Talk of “pressure and panic” and “trouble in making small change” since the banks “suspended special payments.” Taking daguerreotypes.
