Minute book, 1933-1934, 1936-1941 for the Chesterfield County, Virginia 4-H Club. Listed are club officers, club roll, attendance and minutes of monthly meetings. There is also a summary page and a listing of 'general club activities' at the end of the volumes.

The Adam Barger Campaign files contains a card, placard, sample ballot and poster documenting the campaign of Adam Barger.

Ledger, 1887, of the Adams Brothers and Payne Building Supplies Company of Lynchburg, Virginia. Includes lists of accounts with various patrons, who primarily purchase timber and spokes for wheels from the company. Also includes information about the status of each account, such as whether or not it is paid in full or still has charges outstanding.

Papers (including correspondence) of Thomas Adams, Richard Adams and Richard Adams, Jr., of Richmond, Va. Includes papers concerning the erection of burial monuments for members of the family and a printed bill of complaint concerning the private cemetery of the Adams family which details their genealogy. Includes Thomas B. Adams' receipts and a reward for a stolen horse, 1782, 1787.

Letters, 1890-1899, from Walter E. Addison, lawyer of Big Stone Gap, Wise County, Va. to his father E.B. Addison of Richmond, Va. concerning his financial problems. Also, includes bank statement, 1892; and letter, 1899, of John S. [Fleming ?] to E.B. Addison.

Three postcards circa 1900 depicting African Americans. One postcard shows workers in a peanut field, another features a child on a pile of picked cotton. The third is a picture of James Smith, posed seated with a cane in one hand and a hat in another. It states that he was age 93, born in 1813 and the oldest living man in Hampton, Virginia.

The collection includes fliers, catalogs, and other material created by the Africana Studies Program at the College of William and Mary. The collection also contains records concerning the Black Studies Program, from which Africana Studies grew out of.

Contains accounts receivable probably due G. P. Agee, administrator of the estate of W. C. Agee of Buckingham County, Va. Also includes copies of letters written by Francis West.

Letter, 10 December 1784, from merchant Alexander Donaldson of London, England, to merchant John Carter of Williamsburg, Virginia, regarding the payment of a late bill.

Ledgers, 1845-1854, of Alfred Parkins, miller of "Friendship Mills," Frederick Mills, Virginia, which contains grist mills accounts. MsV AmiG7 includes an index. According to the 1850 census, most customers lived in Clarke County, Virginia.

Document with paper seal where Preserved Alger of Warren County, Rhode Island, appoints Thomas Goodwin, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, as his attorney.  December 29, 1803.

Contains accounts, 1835-1844, of the estate of John Allan, foster father of Edgar Allan Poe and papers in the lawsuit Louisa G. Allan v. James Galt, executor of John Allan.

Includes letter, 1727 October 30, of Edward Randolph, London, England to Allen concerning sale of Allen's tobacco; and letter, 1728 September 11, of James Brad[ly?], London, England to Allen concerning goods shipped and sale of tobacco.

Letter, 20 May 1806, of Anthony Davis, New Kent County, Virginia to John Ambler, Williamsburg, Virginia, concerning horse-breeding; letter, 18 June 1814, of Thomas Chiles to Edward Ambler requesting permission to kill lambs so sick slaves can have fresh meat; promissory note, 27 Jan[uar]y 1815, from J[ohn] Ambler to W[illiam] Marshall; and check, 8 July 1849, signed by Philip St. Geo[rge] Ambler.

Letters, 1861-1863, of Ambrose M. Hite, a soldier in the Confederate army (33rd Virginia Infantry Regiment) to his sister, Susan R. Hite, in Page Co., Va. Includes descriptions of camp life and an account of the battle of Gettysburg and the retreat that followed.

Account book, 1852-1856, of an unknown merchant, of Amelia County, Va. which includes account, 1872-1873; several reports of William R. Dunnavant, county superintendent of roads and bridges; copies of deeds, 1899-1903; a blueprint of a steel truss bridge; and loose papers.
