This collection includes newsletters, fliers, and reports from the Department of Geology at the College of William & Mary.

The collection consists of two love letters written by George Ellis to Ursula Pleasants and their marriage contract.

The marriage contract states that George Ellis is the son of John and "Cathrine" Ellis of "Old England," and that Ursula Pleasants is the daughter of John and Susanna Pleasants of Henrico County, Virginia. It is dated July 10, 1766 and signed by 26 members of the Quakers of Virginia.

Letters, 1874-1883, to George E. Dennis, lawyer, in Rocky Mount (Franklin County, Va.) concerning the collection of debts.

14 bound ledgers and day books written by George E. Waltrip for the years, 1890, 1895, 1898, 1901, 1906, 1908, 1917, 1923-1924, 1929, 1932-1934.  Waltrip was a resident of Williamsburg in James City County when he wrote in his books.  The books give an account of the weather, hunting, travel to local areas, including Richmond, and also of the overall dealings of a farmer, merchant, and fisherman from the Williamsburg area.

One page letter regarding his business with Anna Fitzhugh's property in Northern Virginia.

An eight page letter with envelope from George G. York, a senior corporal stationed at Camp Alger, to his wife and child. York writes about a visit to the camp by President McKinley, the moral of the soldiers, his experience with military rations, and his thoughts on the Spanish-American war.

This collection consists of letters written by George L. Hersum, Sergeant in the 5th New Hampshire Infantry, Company A, to his wife, while he was stationed in or near Alexandria, Richmond, Yorktown, Harrison's Landing, and Falmouth, Virginia.

Papers, 1843-1852, of George M. Pennybacker and Mrs. Ann Pennybacker of Rockingham County, Va. Includes letter and accounts. The accounts are with farm laborers and with merchants in Winchester, Va.

The George McFadden Ultimate Frisbee Team jersey and photographs collection contains photographs documenting the William & Mary Ultimate Frisbee Team from 1988 to 1990. The collection also includes a Jersey beloging to the William & Mary Ultimate Frisbee Team.

Dates; 1975-1983; of correspondence, minutes, financial reports, and brochures pertaining to the various civic organizations George was associated with, including the Central Virginia Educational Television Corporation, Commonwealth Club (Richmond, Va.), Downtown Development Unlimited, Metropolitan Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and Keep Virginia Beautiful, Inc.

Account books containing personal accounts, 1852-1862, of A. Glass and his accounts, 1844-1859, as the administrator of the estates of Thomas H. Roberts, Joseph Cleuveures, and Benjamin Cleuveures. Also includes accounts of A. Glass with the Baltimore and West Point Steam Packet Company and the West Point Railway.

Letters, 1821-1858, received by George D. Glenn, iron founder at Isabella Furnace near Luray, Page County, Va. from family (members of the Bradley, Groves and Dowdell families) and friends who have left Page County for West Virginia, Ohio and Oregon. A few letters concern patterns and moldings for iron castings and there are three letters, 1826-1831, written by a Quaker, Abraham Alderdice of Wilmington, Del.

Diary, 1880-1882, of an unidentified farmer in Gloucester County, Va. It includes weather data and writings concerning religion.

Ledger, 1819-1849, of the school commissioners of Gloucester County, Va. and minutes of meetings, 1818-1829.

Execution book, 1854, of an officer of the court [sheriff or justice of the peace ?]. The judgements concern people in Henrico and Goochland counties, Va. and involve money. The book was later used for poetry, 1889.

Deed between Elsie and J. Parish Goodbar, late of Westerville, State of Ohio and Mrs. Flora E. Rogers for property on Prince George Street in Williamsburg, Virginia, April 4, 1907.

This collection contains a ledger of accounts for the Goodrich Durfey Estate, located in Williamsburg, Virginia. The estate sold flour, corn, feed, livestock, and other supplies to the Williasmburg community. Some of the accounts listed include the Eastern State Asylum, President of William & Mary Benjamin S. Ewell, John Dix, Robert Saunders, John M. Galt, and Richard M. Bucktrout.

Letter from William A. R. Goodwin, Wytheville, Virginia to James P. Woods about the death of Maury Coleman and congratulating Woods on his election as Mayor of Roanoke, Virginia.  August 4, 1898.  Includes letter from James P. Woods, Jr. to David Holmes in which he identfies people in the letter and gives biographical information on his Father.  December 18, 1976.

An alphabetical index of Virginia lawyers, with designations beside each name telling the source.  Gordon labels the notebook, "Notes for a work on the Bench and Bar of Virginia."  The final result could be his book, Some Lawyers in Colonial Virginia.
