Cartoon drawn by Fred O. Seibel, which depicts U. S. President Harry S. Truman and Virginia Governor William M. Tuck receiving honorary degrees from William & Mary in 1948. The two politicians are depicted wearing academic regalia. The question "Always Fair Weather When Democrats Get Together?" is written at the top. Seibel signed and inscribed the cartoon "To The Students of William and Mary with my best wishes."
A typed, single sheet, signed letter dated 14 February 1921, from Warren G. Harding to John W.H. Crim about the possibility of Harding receiving an honorary degree from William and Mary.
The collection includes subject files, speeches, and other material from the administration of College of William and Mary President Thomas Ashley Graves with some overlap with his predecessor Davis Y. Paschall and his successor Paul Verkuil. For the most part, headings assigned to folders in their office of origin have been maintained in the box list inventories available here.
