William & Mary College Republicans Club Scrapbook
This scrapbook follows the W&M College Republicans Club for academic year 1978-1979. Included are photographs, ephemera, notes from the club's president, an activities list, clippings, campaign buttons, and clippings. The material is specific to both the club and to Republican politicians in Virginia.
William & Mary Symphony Orchestra records
Scrapbook featuring 65 photographs of the William and Mary Symphony Orchestra in practice, at rehearsals, and socializing as a group. One of their performances was billed as a symphony of horror and features pictures of the students dressed in Halloween attire. Director at the time was E. W. Williams, Jr. Most of the photographs are undated and none are labeled. Some of the photographs indicate that they are from 1998. The photographs are both in color and black/white.
William & Mary Victory Ship Collection
This collection includes original material about the launching of the S. S. William & Mary Victory, data about which ports the ship visited and when, the February 25, 1946 issue of "Victory News," a postcard sent by the ship's former Captain, and accounts given by W&M-related individuals who witnessed the launch.
William W. Hanawalt Postcard,
Jan. 1944 postcard written by William W. Hanawalt to his wife in Allentown, Pa., while Hanawalt was stationed at Camp Peary, Va. The postcard states that "we are to get exceptionally good chow this week . . . this morning we had pork chops and for noon chow we had turkey and lots of it." The front of the postcard is of the football stadium at "William and Mary College" in Williamsburg, Va.
