Diary and plantation accounts, 1853-1855, of Dr. George Wilson, "Mount Pleasant," Surry County, Virginia. which includes genealogical information concerning his children. Transcript included. On July 19, 1853, he mentions the death of "Old Betty" with remarks on her age (maybe 92) and her good character, probably inherited by his wife through Joseph Boykin.

He seems to be a member of the Army Corps of Engineers, and works on the paving of the base runway, takes soil samples, and works on issues of water drainage, among others. Also included is information on the people with which Winstead works as well as general events happening on the base.

Civil War diary of a soldier of the Army of Northern Virginia, 21st Virginia Infantry Regiment, Company I. The content spans June 19, 1861 through July 29, 1862, the latter as part of Jackson's Valley Campaign. The diary includes information concerning the Battle of Kernstown, although Wyatt was not a participant. A typescript is included.
