Scope and Contents Diaries, 1858-1872, of Dr. Robert Page Waller of Williamsburg, Va. Although Waller was a medical doctor, these diaries do not relate to the practice of medicine. During the period from October 1862 to July 1865, Waller lived in Lynchburg, Va. The diaries concern farming, his ill-health, family, the Civil War and Reconstruction. Scope and Contents

Letter from William Waller, Williamsburg, [Virginia] to "Dear Sir" [Mr. Tazewell] about Tazewell's payment of a debt to Dr. Waller (father of William Waller) and on the Whigs who "have beaten us in the county election." He saw (Gaw Matt?) and "all were well with him on the river...depredation of moles, grasshoppers." April 29, 1848.

Scope and Contents Papers, mostly 1947-1959, of Lloyd Haynes Williams, photographer and journalist. The largest part of the collection is financial in nature. Includes newspaper clippings concerning Williams including an obituary and editorial at his death. Includes papers of Mrs. E. E. Goodrich. Also includes notes on sailing, shipbuilding, fishing, oystering and crab industries. There are many notes concerning piracy and a manuscript by Williams called "Blackbeard's Account."Mss. 2007.66...
