Scope and Contents Scrapbook pertaining to James W. Caywood's service in the United States Navy during World War II while in Hawaii as part of the 26th Special Naval Construction Battalion. The bulk of the scrapbook contains photographs, newspaper clippings, and drawings kept by Caywood while serving in Hawaii. Scope and Contents Letters of William Tell Cobb (1840-1913), of Mauricetown, New Jersey, and his brother, Edwin Cobb (b. 1838), also of Mauricetown, New Jersey. William Cobb participated in the battles of Fair Oaks and 2nd Manassas while in the Army, and the battle of Fort Fisher while in the Navy; he describes these battles in his letters. Harold R. Cunningham Papers

Cunningham, a Navy chaplain from California.  Includes letters written while at the Chaplain's School at the College of William & Mary and while on subsequent duty assignments in Wales, at the Sampson Naval Training Center in New York and aboard the USS Arkansas.  Most of the letters are addressed to his mother in California.  All others are addressed to  his wife.

Scope and Contents Diary, October 5-November 11, 1863, of Robert C. DeCordy, acting as 3rd assistant engineer, U. S. S. Philadelphia, while the side-wheeled steamer was serving in the Union blockade squadron near Charleston, South Carolina. The volume includes sketches of maps of Charleston, sketches of ships, and newspaper clippings relating to the siege of Charleston.

D. R. Evans Letter to F. W. Dickins

Scope and Contents Two page letter commending Rear-Admiral F. W. Dickins for his service as Commander of the Coast Squadron as he retires. Evans notes that Dickins was an excellent squadron commander and his hallmarks were "cheerful, prompt and efficient compliance with every requirement of whatever nature" throughout his years of service. Evans expresses hope that Dickins "will enjoy a well-earned rest" at this conclusion of his work.

It documents the final year of World War II (1945) from the perspective of a United States Navy parachute rigger stationed at U.S.N.A.S. Klamath Falls in Oregon. W.A. (Wilfred Allen or Al) Fountain wrote to Evelyn Ruth Lanphere, who lived in Coupeville, on Whidbey Island, in Washington State.
