William Winston Snead Papers

Scope and Contents The collection includes six Certificates of Distinction awarded to Snead.  There is one dated June 23, 1898 and presented to Snead for passing his examination in the Department of Pedagogy.  It is signed by Hugh S. Bird (Professor of Pedagogy) and Lyman Brown Wharton (Secretary of the Faculty).  The Wren Building is engraved on this certificate.  The other five certificates are dated June 22, 1899 and feature engravings of King William III and Queen Mary II.  Snead was awarded these...

Scope and Contents This collection contains an essay written by Sydnor titled "Realisation of the Ideal Ration-self" and a petition to the faculty of the College of William and Mary.  The petition was submitted by members of the senior class to confer a diploma upon Sydnor. It is signed by nine seniors: James Hubard Lloyd, Thomas Peachy Spencer, John Baynham Terrell, Alfred Lynch Terrell, Charles Irving Carey, Herman Blankinship, Slater Clay Blackiston, Charles Franklin Counts, and W.
