Content Description Letters written by Charles Avery to Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap while at school at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, and from Camp Pickett in Virginia where he was a member of the 78th "Lightning" Division Infantry. Avery followed the 78th over to Europe in late 1944 where they fought to defeat the German Army.
