Acc. 2008.91 is four examination books and one book of notes belonging to W. Brooks George from 1930-1931 for the following classes; Economics 321, Business 301, and Business 302.

George W. Lindsay Promise with Samuel W. Murphy

Scope and Contents A promise signed and dated between William & Mary students, George W. Lindsay and Samuel W. Murphy on Nov. 25, 1857. The promise reads as follows: "We, the undersigned, do solemly promise never to marry without the others consent. Nothing but death shall dissolve this promise."

Scope and Contents The collection of James Gleason represents all aspects of events and activities at the College of William and Mary for the years 1983-2006. Events documented include: Charter Day, commencement, buildings, awards, faculty and staff, students, and athletics. Physically the collection is organized by the "rolls of film taken" and into years they were taken. They are stored and protected in plastic sheets in notebooks and numbered for identification.

Mills E. Godwin, Jr. Papers

Scope and Contents The personal papers of Mills E. Godwin, Jr., dating from 1947 to 1978, consist of 24 boxes of correspondence, 1,100 copies of speeches, schedules and appointments. Also included are 40 scrapbooks of news clippings and photographs, 159 citations and plaques, and one box of audiovisual materials, all of which pertain largely to Godwin's personal involvement in the government, political life, activities, organizations and institutions of Virginia during the 30-year period. William Henry Gwathney Letters

Scope and Contents The collection consists of two letters written by Gwathney while he was a student at William and Mary.  Both letters were written to his cousin, Benjamin T. Taylor of Petersburg, Virginia. Scope and Contents The bulk of the collection is correspondence from H. Reid (Harold Alfred) to College of William and Mary staff in the early 1990s. Also included are news clippings, copies of cartoons by Reid, photographs of unidentified, perhaps scientific or medial, equipment dated 1970-1971, and 2 photographic slides from a 1958 William and Mary football game, one of the athletes and the other of the band.
