The main topic of conversation has been the French Revolution, with numerous balls being held throughout the United States. Mrs. Blair, Mrs. Hallam, John Saunders, and Samuel Crawley have died.

Then he hopes to come to London or Edinburgh to continue his studies. Barraud and Tazewell have parted company and the latter has been replaced with Gillchrist. Parson Camm has been married for some time. Newspapers are full of accounts of French Revolution and the war. On June 18, the "goal was burnt by a prisoner who suffered in the flames."
