Scope and Contents From the Collection: Two diaries kept by Julia Marie Huyshe (1812- 1890) describing many trips to and around India from 1855- 1864. The wife of Colonel Alfred Huyshe, Julia lived in India with her husband and had many children while in India. Because of unrest in the country and escalating mutinies, Julia took her children back to England but returns to India to be with her husband.
