Collection contains genealogy of the Poulton Family, published stories, articles, book reviews, books, correspondence with family and friends and news clippings by and relating to John D. Weaver, author, novelist, biographer and West Coast editor of "Travel and Leisure Magazine".
Collection is open to all researchers. John Downing Weaver was born 4 February 1912 in Washington, D. C. He attended Georgetown University and graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1932. He received his M. A. degree from George Washington University in 1933. He worked for the National Recovery Administration, and as a reporter, feature writer, book reviewer and copy editor for the Kansas City Star, 1935- 1940. Since 1940, he has been a freelance writer.
