This collection contains letters, manuscripts, notes, and other material collected by Tom Baker, class of 1966, while writing the novel The Sound of One Horse Dancing and the collection of short stories Full Frontal. The bulk of the collection consists of various drafts of the two books, including original manuscripts written between the 1970s and the 2000s, as well as the final published versions. Many of the drafts have comments, both hand written as well as electronic corrections. Also included are letters with editors, agents, and publishers with their comments throughout the various stages of the books.
The collection is open to all researchers. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, such as the Virginia Public Records Act (Code of Virginia. § 42.1-76-91); and the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Code of Virginia § 2.2-3705.5).
