Scope and Contents

Minutebook, 1877-1879 of the Bachelor Club of Middletown, Pa., also including constitution, by-laws, rules and regulations. The constitution states that the object of the club "shall be to have a room or suit of rooms to be open at all times, Sunday excepted, and furnished with books and newspapers of the day, also for the discussion of all questions, except those of a political and religious character, and for the social enjoyment of the members."
