2 Fevrier, 1687[/8]. Contemporary summary of letter from a Jesuit from Leigh [Leige] to a Jesuit from Fribourg. Account of the progress of Catholicism in England under James II, reporting the King's secret dealings with the Jesuits, hopes that a Roman Catholic Seminary might be established at Oxford, news of the Catholic chapel at Somerset House, news of proposed legislation favoring the Catholics, rumors that this state of affairs was leading some "heretics" to turn to William of Orange.
