Offers to provide assistance to her to contact her daughter, Mrs. Julia Gardiner Tyler; reports the description of battles received from her uncle, Dr. Minge; notes that the Federal soldiers "have laid waste, the beautiful estates of "Westover" and "Berkeley," and in fact, all the country around here, not leaving a blade of grass, or living thing upon the land;" gives a forwarding address where letters to Julia Gardiner Tyler might be sent. 4 pp. ALS.
