From the Collection:

Williams writes to her sister in Charlottesville, Virginia, to inquire about their father's ailing health and to give an update on the health of her own family. Her son Robert is the sickest, taken with the summer complaints, which a doctor diagnoses as dysentery. She also writes about the rental or purchase of a summer home and begs her sister to respond directly with her opinions on the matter.
