A Sanford Howard production of the screenplay, Mr. Kool final draft script dated June 19, 1973. The film was released in the United States  August 7, 1974 titled Together Brothers.  As part of the Blaxploitation Cinema, the story is about an African American policeman, nicknamed Mr. Kool, who is gunned down in a poor neighborhood in Galveston, Texas.  The only witness to the crime was a young boy named Tommy who is rendered mute by the trauma he suffered when the gunman tried to kill him, too.  Tommy's brother, H.J. is the leader of a local African and Hispanic gang that call themselves the "Brothers United".  They endeavor to protect Tommy as the killer proceeds to stalk him.  They also make an effort to bring Mr. Kool's unknown killer to justice.  It later becomes revealed that Mr. Kool's killer is a transgender child molester whose motive for committing the crime was embarrassment and public shaming by Mr. Kool when he was arrested at an earlier date.  The movie was filmed in Galveston, Texas.  Screenplay was by Jack DeWitt and Joe Greene, based on a story created by Jack DeWitt.  Produced by Robert L. Rosen and directed by William A. Graham.  Cast included Ahmad Nurradin, Anthony Wilson, Nelson Sims, Kenneth Bell, Owen Pace, Kim Dorsey, Ed Bernard, Lincoln Kilpatrick, Glynn Turman, Richard Yniguez, Mwako Cumbuka, Francis E. WIlliams, Craig Campfield, Bessie Griffin, Angela Elayne Gibbs, and Lynne Holmes.
